We are so excited to welcome Kathryn Andersen to Northbridge International School Cambodia for her very first visit as part of the unique Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme. Kathryn is a violinist from Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She received her Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University. She studied with Ronald Copes, Peter Zazofsky, and James Buswell.

Kathryn is a member of the Curriculum Specialist Team from The Juilliard School who the Music Department work with throughout the year in order to continue to develop exciting new opportunities within this collaboration. During her visit (Monday 17th to Thursday 20th October), Kathryn will commence her fantastic work with the Music Team and students to see the curriculum in action, as well as sharing her experience and skill as a professional musician.
Kathryn Andersen is a violinist from Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She received her Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University. She studied with Ronald Copes, Peter Zazofsky, and James Buswell.
Kathryn spent three summers as a Violin Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Centre where she worked alongside the Boston Symphony Orchestra. An active chamber and orchestral musician, Kathryn has performed both domestically at Tanglewood, Symphony Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Zankel Hall, and Carnegie Hall as well internationally in Germany, the Czech Republic, Japan, and China. Kathryn performs with the American Ballet Theatre, Broadway’s Phantom of the Opera orchestra, Albany Symphony Orchestra, American Composers Orchestra, Westchester Philharmonic, and Princeton Symphony Orchestra.
A dedicated teacher as well, Kathryn served as a Teaching Artist through the Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall. She taught in New York City public schools in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Staten Island. Kathryn also spent six years as a violin and viola instructor at Saint David’s School, a private school located in New York City. While at Saint David’s, Kathryn founded and directed the First Orchestra, a training orchestra for the school’s youngest musicians. In June 2015 she joined The Juilliard School as a Music Curriculum Specialist in the Global Ventures office.
