Virtual Library Learning Commons
The Media Center is literally the vibrant center of the Lower School. Students in grades PreK3 through 5 look forward to weekly library class time spent with beloved literary characters in this cozy space. As students progress through increasingly challenging reading material, they also learn to use digital resources, such as databases and ebooks designed specifically for their age groups.
Resources
The Media Center collection consists of roughly 10,000 shelved items, hundreds of popular and respected ebooks and audiobooks (both fiction and nonfiction), several informational databases, and apps that offer access to age appropriate books and magazines. From the smallest students learning letter sounds, through upper elementary students studying states, famous historical figures and falling for literary heroes, all elementary ages are thoughtfully collected for.
NBPS Virtual Library
The Virtual Library never closes at North Broward Prep. Links to all digital resources plus an online catalog of all shelf items can be found by clicking on our Virtual Library.
Flexible Space
The Media Center offers flexible space that can transform from hosting intimate story time through 5th grade collaborative research groups in the time it takes students to pass from one class to the next. A green screen, several desktop computers and a class set of MacBooks are just some of the tools students use to research, learn, create. The Media Center opens into the Ecoff Science Lab as Media and Tech form a synergistic bond.
