Our theme for this year is ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’ and although we are not in school, we still have an action-packed week of great book related learning and activities ahead. This is the perfect opportunity for our young readers to set their minds free and roam among the wild world of books while celebrating all the best things about books and reading.
Teachers will be sharing specific activities for each class via Tapestry and Seesaw, linking all areas of the curriculum to books and our theme of ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’ . There are so many exciting learning tasks for the children to take part which will challenge their curiosity and engage them in the world of books. It is looking like being a fabulous week of great learning.
Just a few of the weeks exciting experiences and tasks:
Dress up as a book character, improvising with the things you have at home.
Decorate a cake or cupcakes on the theme of Curious Creatures.
Take a photo of you reading in an extreme position or place and challenge your teacher too!
Design a door plaque inspired by your favourite book or a book linked to the Curious Creatures, Wild Minds theme.
Make a podcast of you reading or reviewing a book.
Bring them to life as models, images, digital animations, prints.
Get ready to explore ‘Curious Creatures and Wild Minds’!
