The children in Year 1 Chameleon class have been enjoying their themed learning topic ‘The Magic Toy Maker’. One activity has really challenged their thinking, concentration and fine motor skills; making their very own spiralling cube toys. The children had to follow a tricky process, following step by step instructions to carefully fold pieces of square paper into collapsible cubes (harder than it sounds). They then glued several cubes together to make a string of cubes which like magic collapse down into one flat cube. The process
was quite challenging and the children were lucky to have some supportive parents who helped out. There was lots of great learning and the children had real sense of pride when they ended up with such smart puzzles that they had made themselves.
