Eagle class was lucky enough to visit Erasmus Huis to see the 2019 World Press Photo Exhibition.
It was a great opportunity for us to see some amazing photographs that told us stories from around the world. For many of us it was the first time to experience what a journalist does and why their jobs are so important. All of the photographs we saw were taken by photojournalists. If we hadn’t seen these photos we would not know about all these things happening in the world. Similarly, as global citizens, we will now take much more of an interest in things happening around the world where people and animals are celebrating, suffering or being treated unfairly. You can see the photos being exhibited at worldpressphoto.org/calendar.
Whilst at Erasmus Huis we were also given a tour of their amazing library, the amphitheatre and the theatre. We all had a great time and were fantastic ambassadors representing NAS Jakarta.
