Some of our dedicated NIS Seals represented NIS at an inter-schools swim meet hosted at the British School of Jakarta. This was a significant event as the swimmers were competing in a fifty meter Olympic sized swimming pool – slightly bigger than our own NIS pool!
Not put off by this challenge, our brave swimmers adopted a ‘can do’ attitude and despite many never having competed in a pool this size and in longer distance events, they performed brilliantly. They were brave, demonstrated resilience and determination, and we are very proud of each one of them.
The children competing in the events were Anne-Fleur (50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke), Svea (50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 200m freestyle), Lieze (50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke), Louis (200m freestyle, 200m individual medley, 50m butterfly), and Casper (200m freestyle, 200m individual medley, 50m butterfly).
Amazing swimming! Amazing athletes! Amazing sportsmanship!
