The school has been reverberating to the sounds of children rehearsing their songs and dance routines for the Christmas concert, ‘It’s a Wonderful Christmas Time’, all week, and yesterday it all reached a climax with our spectacular show.
From our youngest children who melted everyone’s heart as ‘Dancing Christmas Trees’ to our older children with their very sophisticated ‘12 Days of Christmas’, all our acts were bright and colourful, and really expressed the happiness of the season. All our little reindeer, snowmen, Santas, snowflakes, and Christmas trees looked fabulous in their costumes and sang and danced with great enthusiasm. Our Nursery classes amused us with ‘Little Rudolf Reindeer’, ‘Frosty the Snowman’ and a Dutch version of ‘All I want for Christmas’, while the older children in Early Years brought a smile to the everyone’s face with ‘Santa Claus is coming to Town’, ‘Little Snowflakes’ and ‘I’m the Happiest Christmas Tree’. Our Primary Years children carried off excellent performances as well, including ‘Deck the Halls’, ‘Jingle Bells’ and a catchy Dutch song proclaiming, ‘Nothing is cooler than Christmas’.
The children have worked so hard over the last two weeks, it was good to see their pride as they took a bow and heard their applause. It truly is a ‘Wonderful Christmas Time’ at NIS this December.
