The NAISR Elementary Student Council is always listening to Student Voice and organising events to make a difference to our community, local and global. On Friday, 11 October, the Elementary Student Council at Nord Anglia International School Rotterdam, held a disco party. Rather than selling tickets to this event, the Student Council encouraged students to donate toys and games for the children at JBRR (Youth Protection Rotterdam Rijnmond).
Over a duration of two weeks, the members of the Elementary Student Council collected donated toys and games for the local children in need at JBRR. At Nord Anglia International School Rotterdam, the Elementary Student Council ensures that all events planned by the students are helping develop a sustainable world. The students would like to highlight that the Disco Party event supported two Sustainable Development Goals 1 & 10 to reduce the inequalities and poverty for the children at JBRR.
On October 31st, 2019, the NAISR Elementary Student Council delivered 11 boxes of toys & games to JBRR. The students were also shown around the premises and had the opportunity to discuss and ask questions about what JBRR do and what NAISR can continue to do to support this amazing local "Youth Protection."
Representatives from Grades 2 to 5 as well as our Grade 5 Elementary Ambassadors were overwhelmed, amazed and keen about all they saw and heard.
Well done to our wonderful Elementary Student Council!
