About our Learning Support Programme (LSP)
Our LSP is here for students who need extra support. Students who may need academic, behavioural, or learning assistance are referred to our support system and assessed by our Student Services Team (SST), which includes our Head of Learning Support, Principal, teachers, and parents. They evaluate each student’s needs and come up with goals and strategies to help them flourish.
Aims of the programme
Our Learning Support Programme will improve student outcomes by:
- Developing the academic, emotional, social, and behavioural skills each student needs to succeed both now and in the future.
- Providing support in the classroom and/or one-to-one, focusing on each student’s strengths by personalising learning and modifying the curriculum.
- Fostering appreciation, acceptance, and respect.
- Recognising individuality, diversity, and each student’s preferred learning style.
- Building confidence, resilience, and a belief in the student’s ability to succeed.
- Supporting the development of friendships and important social skills.
- Encouraging personal responsibility for learning and behaviour.
- Creating an environment that’s supportive, caring, and safe.
