Having graduated from the University of Bedfordshire, Joe began his teaching career in the UK where he taught for six years across primary and secondary schools. He was subsequently promoted to Science Curriculum Lead alongside his PE role and taught Key Stages 1 to 5, including GCSE and A-Level PE before embarking on his career in Shanghai.
Since moving here in 2018, Joe has undertaken the roles of Head of Secondary PE at our sister school, NACIS Shanghai, and Head of Secondary PE at another school in the city, prior to joining NAIS Pudong in 2024.
A keen sportsman growing up, he played cricket and rugby from a young age until he left for China. This year he is the 1st XI captain of the Shanghai Cricket Club Daredevils. In his spare time, he also enjoys travelling China and further afield with his wife and young son, as well as spending quality time with his two rescue dogs.
