Anna has just graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a Master’s in Chemistry (First Class Honors) and is currently working at Pharmaron which is a multinational CRO. After carrying out a year of Master's Research there, Pharmaron asked her to stay on as an Analytical Chemist, working on pharmaceutical agents for world-renowned customers. She loved her university experience and is now very excited to see what this new job and her life in London will bring!
During her time at Nord Anglia International School Shanghai Pudong, her greatest memories involve the sports teams and the school musicals. Anna played volleyball, basketball and football, and she enjoyed every single moment of each training session, each game, and each tournament. Some of her best friends she met through these teams, and she would do it all over again. Anna loved school musicals right from the auditions through to the final night of the show. It was so much fun spending her afternoons going through lines, songs and dances with people from different years, which allowed her to get to know them and become friends.
Anna’s passions have very much remained the same since her time at NAIS. The Sciences have always been very interesting to her, and she still really enjoys learning new things and studying new subjects. Although she can’t play as much sport, volleyball remains a constant and a major part of her life. Lastly, our school allowed Anna to meet people from all over the world, which to this day fuels her passion for traveling, learning about new cultures, and visiting the most wonderful places.
Anna’s advice is “To do as many extracurricular activities as you like and enjoy yourself. Join that sports team, join that choir, join that society, join that music course! You won’t remember your tests, your Maths grades, or your English essays, but what you will remember is all the new people you become friends with and how much fun you had sharing moments with them!”
