NAIS Pudong Scholarships
The Cap and Gown Ceremony for the Class of 2024 was a momentous occasion, marking the culmination of years of rigorous academic work, discipline, and personal growth, not least for two of the students, Ethan and Daniel, who started their NAIS Pudong journey 16 years ago in Pre-Nursery!
Completion of the IB Diploma Programme is no small feat; our graduates mastered a multitude of internal assessments, engaged deeply with the Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and crafted extensive, well-researched Extended Essays, all while navigating the arduous university application process.
This ceremony symbolises not just their academic achievements but also their perseverance and the invaluable skills they've developed. It was wonderful to listen to Daniel as he gave a speech on behalf of the students, hearing him talk so confidently and passionately about the commitment of not only his fellow Year 13s, but also of his teachers and his parents along the way.
Although one student, Matvey, wasn’t able to attend due to illness, the rest were joined by their families and most of the rest of the school in celebrating the occasion in the theatre. Congratulations to all our graduates on this significant milestone. We are incredibly proud of your dedication and resilience and are excited to see the bright futures you will undoubtedly create.
The Year 13 Boat Prom was a night to remember, a perfect celebration to cap off the secondary school experience for the Class of 2024. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Pudong Bund area, our students enjoyed an evening filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations, and cherished their final moments together as a class. The enchanting setting on the water, with the stunning skyline as a backdrop, provided the ideal atmosphere for creating lasting memories.
What made the evening even more special was the presence of their teachers and family members, who accompanied them on the boat. This symbolic gesture represented the support and guidance they've received throughout their journey at NAIS Pudong. As they embarked on the boat, it signified setting sail from NAIS Pudong towards broader horizons. Here's to the Class of 2024—may your future be as bright and beautiful as the night of the Boat Prom, and may you carry these cherished memories with you always!
In the final of our series of alumni spotlight articles, we speak with Matthew Ward, a professional football player in England who spent six years at NAIS Pudong before departing in 2019 to take up his current role as an elite sports star!
At NAIS Pudong, we strive to achieve our values, one element of which is building confidence in our students to help them better prepare for life after education. But what about building the confidence to question one’s approach and strategy in tacking tasks or ideas?
On the last day of Term One, Principal Diane Vaughan conducted the termly Principal's Awards, this time celebrating the outstanding contributions of students who exemplify one of the school's core values of being considerate.
On 9th and 10th of December years 7-9 students were given the chance to debate on a given present-day topic. A debate is a structured discussion where individuals present and defend their viewpoints on a topic, aiming to persuade others with well-supported arguments.
