NAIS Pudong Scholarships
On the last day of Term One, Principal Diane Vaughan conducted the termly Principal's Awards, this time celebrating the outstanding contributions of students who exemplify one of the school's core values of being considerate. From Year 1 to Year 13, recipients were recognised for their empathy, kindness, and efforts to create and encourage a supportive and inclusive community. Each of the award winners have demonstrated remarkable dedication to making school life better for their peers and teachers, earning praise for their thoughtfulness in various aspects of school life across the current term and beyond.
Students were commended for their consistent efforts to uplift and support those around them. In Primary, young leaders like Nili G and Gilberto O impressed with their ability to create welcoming and inclusive environments, whether by encouraging teamwork or stepping up as class representatives to champion the voices of their peers. Similarly, students like current Year 3 Ivy Z displayed a rare combination of selflessness and leadership by putting others’ opportunities ahead of their own while also driving charitable initiatives.
Secondary student set equally inspiring examples. Giselle O demonstrated exceptional support for younger students through her involvement in school projects and after-school activities, embodying kindness in action. Meanwhile, Naoya Y stood out not only for his attentiveness to classmates but also for his global outlook, actively engaging in initiatives aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
The awards also highlighted how consideration can shine through in unexpected moments. Michelle M’s gentle encouragement and unwavering positivity, even when facing personal challenges, were celebrated as a testament to the enduring impact of empathy. Similarly, Y13 student Tia B’s humility and focus on others, both in sports leadership and school-wide initiatives, showcased how consideration can unite and inspire communities.
These Principal's Awards not only acknowledged the honorees’ individual achievements but also reminded the school community of the profound influence of kindness and thoughtfulness. Whether through small, daily acts of compassion or large-scale projects, the recipients proved that being considerate is a powerful force for good.
