Dear Parents,
Message from the Principal
What a great first week so many children and teachers have had as we start the new session! As I walk around the school or as I meet children arriving in the morning, I am always struck by the smiles and the waves – even from the sleepy ones!
At today’s first Assembly I have been talking about the school’s values of self-respect and respect for others. I asked them to think about how they wanted to be treated and why it is so important to think about others and to make new people feel welcome in our community. It is difficult to move to a new country or a new school so we always need to remember that and help each other.
In the Secondary assembly Mr Bishop talked to the students about setting themselves goals and persevering to achieve them. He told them of the inspirational story of a friend’s son, George Mills, who set himself short and long term goals to succeed in Athletics. The assembly culminated with the children watching George win the 800m in the European Championships, a true inspiration for all our students.
Have a great weekend.
Mr Cooklin
Principal
