Dear Parents,
This week we celebrated World Children’s Day, with lots of students taking over classes for the day. My office was taken over by Nicki Ge and Stella Chin from Year 7, with our new official Global Campus photographer Lili Casson taking pictures. So, over to Nicki and Stella (who were fantastic today - thank you both!).
Nicki and Stella’s message
Dear parents,
This Friday we had a world children’s day celebration activity, which is about students who are taking over the job of being a teacher, instead of the teachers being the teacher. Since we wanted to be Mr. Ferguson for world children’s day, we have been helping him do his daily tasks and we went to his office to do so.
We checked the lunch menu, edited the school newsletter, and have been checking how many classes are in the whole of the secondary school. We also had edited the mail from Eco Club that was going to be sent out to the Zero Food Waste Chengdu group. We have made his mail more polite like adding a “thank you” or “sincerely” at the end, and we also put the mail into another politer order. We also checked the grammar and solved some issues that were in the newsletter and the mail.
When we were checking the lunch menu, we discussed about the next week’s lunch as we felt there were too many overlapped dishes, for example we felt there were too much pork noodles next week. We changed the menu so that students would prefer the lunch more. So, there would be less food waste.
We feel that the Principal was working extremely hard every day as we had seen what things he has to do daily. As the Principal, we think that we need to have a great responsibility to do hundreds of varied work that he must do. When we saw the full piles of work to do, we did not know the Principal could have done so much. We felt so thankful for him and how he had worked so hard. That is it for this week’s newsletter!
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Stella and Nicki
