Dear parents,
It has been wonderful this week to welcome back so many students and colleagues, both new and existing. It has made a huge difference to the learning taking place, and we are now nearly 100% to where we expect to be, with only a small number of teachers yet to finish quarantine, and families returning every week from overseas with flights to China increasing daily. The students are able to benefit from face to face, practical teaching in Science, in the Arts and in PHE. It has been a long journey of which we are nearing the end - and there is still so much of the year to look forward to.
We streamed our first assembly this morning online, with our Lower Primary assembly going live. Year 1A sang us a wonderful song to show their new number knowledge, we awarded our Stars of the Week and were very active together in a group dance. On Wednesday I was invited to read a story to our Early Years children at their assembly, and I have attached their Stars this week as well. On Monday the Secondary students learned about the IB learner profile attribute of being knowledgeable, presented by Susie and Enni.
Next Saturday, 24th October, is the British Chamber of Commerce’s annual British Day event. We will have a stall there and hope to see many of you on the day to enjoy what promises to be a fun occasion. LIS families can register by using this unique link to get free tickets. You are required to register the inviter's name as "Léman International School Chengdu”.
The registration code is one per person ( Anyone taller than 1.2m needs a ticket to enter the site).
A gentle reminder that clubs start next week. We will send nursery students home at 14:30 both on Tuesday and Thursday from next week and send reception above home at 16:30.
