Message from the Principal

Good afternoon Parents,

It has been a very pleasurable week this week and I have taken the opportunity to spend as much time as I can with both parents and students.  Alongside my regular teaching and classroom visits to see the wonderful learning taking place, I was grateful to be invited to the LFA Coffee Morning at the Ascott on Thursday.  This gave members of my leadership team and myself the opportunity to talk to parents face to face, to meet up with families we haven’t seen for months, and the chance to reconnect and share the morning together.  The LFA continues to be a valued and much appreciated supporter of the school, and we continue to work together for the benefit of our most important people - the children and young adults who study with us.  One of the exciting announcements was the launch of a series of parent workshops, the first of these to be held on October 21st - more details on location will be with you nearer the time.  I have again attached the highlights from the Parent Satisfaction Survey shared earlier this year, to give you another chance to review the findings.

I was delighted to be able to attend both Upper and Lower Primary celebration assemblies this morning.  The younger children sang their hearts out, we enjoyed an amazing piano solo performance from Winnie in Year 3, and we learned about what Year 2 have been studying - even having the chance to join in!  This week’s Stars of the Week can be found with this newsletter, well done to those children who were awarded this week.  Upper Primary was equally exciting, with lots more good work being celebrated.  I really enjoy these times for students to lead and have the opportunity to shine in front of their peers.  The Secondary assembly on Monday saw two of our DP students, Henry and Eileen, present a very thoughtful message about open mindedness, along with the awarding of certificates for Secondary students - again see the attached for details.

Please check the information about the Clubs here.

Finally we are close to publishing our class lists.  As mentioned our teachers have spent a lot of time to create the right mix for each of the post-October classes, considering friendships, first language, gender and a whole range of other considerations.  We hope to have these with you early next week, once the Leadership team and the Admissions team have the chance to add their thoughts. We understand you want to know, and we will have this with you soon.
