Polina’s love-filled journey with ISM began back in 2011. The Upper Campus had just opened and she worked as a psychologist with children with behavioural and learning difficulties.
2016 brought new ideas and Polina was offered to head psychological services at ISM. That is how the position of a school counselor was born.
Polina feels the need to create a safe space for students where they could come, a place where they feel secure and free to express themselves in a natural and open way; a place where their feelings are validated and not judged or criticised, and they can be listened to, heard, and accepted.
"There are no bad children in my world, just impressionable, conflicted young people struggling with emotions and impulses, trying to convey their feelings and needs in the only way they know." This quote speaks volumes to Polina. That’s the way she sees children in her office now days.
As a clinical psychologist with a PhD in psychology, Polina teaches at the university and regularly holds workshops for students and people who are passionate about psychology.
Besides her work, Polina loves strong coffee, new cities, cozy places, kind eyes, interesting books and fascinating films.
