Charlotte believes that education should be a holistic approach that encompasses not only academics but also emotional and social learning. She strives to create a safe and supportive learning environment where all children feel valued and respected.
Her teaching philosophy is to foster a love for learning that is sustainable beyond the classroom. To achieve this, she creates student-centred lessons that facilitate both independent and collaborative learning. Charlotte encourages students to ask questions, seek answers, and explore their interests in a way that connects to their own experiences.
Charlotte also believes that learning is best achieved when it is enjoyable. This is why she often incorporates play-based activities, games, and hands-on experiences into lessons. This approach not only creates a more enjoyable learning experience but also aids in the retention of the children’s information.
In addition, she prioritises building positive relationships with her students and their families - open communication, mutual respect, and partnership are key to creating a successful learning experience for everyone.
As a primary teacher, she hopes to inspire children to become lifelong learners who are confident, curious, and compassionate. By fostering a love for learning and promoting positive attitudes towards themselves and others, her aim is to create a classroom culture where every child feels capable and empowered to reach their full potential.
