The Rosinka students of Year Five and Six showed unbelievable enthusiasm towards their production when they performed ‘Darwin Rocks’ on the 4th and 5th of December.
Their determination to keep on improving their performance was evident throughout rehearsals. Of course, none of this would have come together without the support of our dedicated parents.
Our production followed the life of Charles Darwin and his work on evolution. Just as Darwin himself would have it, our production itself evolved from a simple idea to a show-stopping spectacular filled with one-liners, sensational songs, amazing acting and dancing. The script was adapted to include some great jokes and references to life at school to make it more accessible for our keen performers.
One of the many strengths of the show were the songs and music. This, of course, was all thanks to the Music team, headed by Ms Fountain. Without their support, the singing would simply not have reached the high standard at which the children performed. Behind the scenes, our teaching staff worked hard to prepare an excellent backdrop and props which will no doubt come in handy in years to come.
Year Five and Six students should be extremely proud of themselves in their performance of ‘Darwin Rocks’. The song ‘Tierra del Fuego’ will be running through our heads for a very long time ahead…
