As part of our commitment to a truly global education, Nord Anglia Education schools foster close links to UNICEF and the United Nations. With this in mind, it was very fitting that ISM Krylatskoe Lower Campus recently turned blue in celebration of UNICEF’s World Children’s Day on Wednesday the 22nd of November.

This day marks the establishment of Children’s Rights worldwide, so we spent time learning about what some of those key rights are and how we can uphold them. With the right to play, learn and express ourselves in a safe environment secure at ISM, we found many reasons to celebrate the occasion.

As the day progressed, we learnt that many children around the world were suffering because their rights were not being respected. In many places, children need support to access education, fair treatment, healthy drinking water, or even a safe home.

After discussing the importance of each, we held a special Campus election to choose a UNICEF charity that we felt could most use our support. After some lively debates and thoughtful voting, Lower Campus is proud to donate our charity funds from the day to The Right to Proper Healthcare.

Overall, it was a great day of learning, and we are proud to play our role in protecting children’s rights around the world.
