Expressive arts - such as drama - are part of the formal school curriculum at International College Spain from years 6 through 10. Arts subjects are also offered as an option for the IB Diploma programme at ICS.
Learning about and through expressive arts is fundamental to the development of the whole child, promoting creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and social interactions. The arts develop innovative thinking and creative use of technologies, and in so doing prepare students to participate fully in this multifaceted world.
The arts are a universal form of human expression and a unique way of knowing that engage us in affective, imaginative and productive activity. Learning through the arts helps us to explore, shape and communicate our sense of identity and understanding of the world, while providing opportunities to develop self-confidence, resilience and adaptability.
