Promotion 2025 Maturite
Remarkable achievements of our Maturité students

The Swiss Maturité exam results are in — and once again, we are proud to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our students at Collège du Léman (CDL). In an extraordinary achievement, our students secured  three of the top four scores in the winter session of the Federal Maturité in Suisse Romande. Even more impressively,  three of our students scored over 120 points  — a milestone never before seen! Leading the way, one student earned an exceptional  122 points , the highest score of the entire session.

This remarkable success reflects not only the determination and resilience of our students, but also the unwavering support, expertise, and strong sense of community that define who we are at CDL. Behind these outstanding results lies a deeper story—of the rigorous academic journey of the Swiss Maturité, of the vibrant daily life within CDL’s Secondaire francophone section, and of a nurturing environment where challenges are embraced, talents are cultivated, and students are empowered to grow both intellectually and personally.

A rigorous and bilingual Swiss Maturité programme

At CDL, students have the opportunity to pursue the Maturité Suisse, a prestigious academic qualification that serves as a gateway to both Swiss and international universities. This rigorous programme emphasises a broad-based education, fostering critical thinking and in-depth knowledge across various disciplines.

By offering the Maturité Suisse, we ensure that students receive a comprehensive education that not only meets Swiss educational standards but also prepares them for global academic and professional endeavours.

The Swiss Maturité bilingual programme is built on a demanding approach, preparing students for federal exams in both French and English. This unique structure allows students to develop a strong bilingual proficiency, a skill highly valued in international higher education and professional fields. Students study geography, history, and their complementary subject in English, allowing them to immerse themselves in academic English while maintaining excellence in their native language.

This multicultural and multilingual education equips students with the skills to thrive in universities worldwide.

"The Maturité is one of the most academically demanding diplomas, requiring students to master 13 subjects over several years. Our programme is designed to challenge and support students, ensuring they are well-prepared for higher education and future careers."
— Emmanuel Coigny, Executive Principal, Secondary

Worldwide university destinations

CDL graduates from the Maturité programme have gained acceptance to prestigious universities, including EPFL, UNIGE, UNIL, the University of St. Gallen, and renowned institutions abroad such as UCL and the University of Edinburgh. The bilingual component of the programme ensures they can seamlessly transition into international academic environments.

Excellence through passionate teachers and personalised support

At CDL, we expect excellence not only from our students but also from the dedicated educators who guide and inspire them every day. The commitment of our teachers goes far beyond delivering lessons; they act as mentors, motivators, and role models who inspire students to push their boundaries and achieve their highest potential.

"We have an incredibly dedicated team, some of whom have been with us for over 20 years. They bring stability, experience, and a true passion for education. Our students succeed because they are guided by educators who are invested in their growth."
— Emmanuel Coigny, Executive Principal

Alexander, this year’s top scorer with an incredible 122 points, shares how teacher support made a defining impact on his success:

"At my previous school, my teacher was rarely there, and it was hard to stay motivated. At CDL, it was the complete opposite. The teachers are present, they ensure we understand, and they truly care. That made a huge difference in my learning experience."

Similarly, Victoria reflects on the long-term support she received:

"One of the things I appreciated most about CDL was the consistency of our teachers. Many of them stayed with us throughout our academic journey, and that built a deep sense of trust. They knew our strengths, they knew where we needed to improve, and they supported us every step of the way."

This continuity in teaching enables students to progress with confidence and reach their full potential. Faculty members do not simply deliver lessons — they identify each student’s strengths and areas for growth, providing personalised guidance that fosters confidence, independence, and resilience.

A 2025 Maturité celebration worthy of these outstanding results

It was in an atmosphere filled with emotion and pride that a magnificent Maturité celebration took place on Thursday, 13 March 2025 at Collège du Léman, honouring the students’ remarkable achievements. This exceptional moment was made all the more special by the presence of an equally exceptional guest of honourHugo Duminil-Copin, Fields Medal winner in mathematics, a symbol of excellence and inspiration.

His presence added even greater prestige to the celebration, reminding everyone that passion, rigour, and determinationopen the doors to the greatest successes.

"This Maturité celebration is much more than a simple graduation ceremony. It is a moment of recognition, sharing, and pride for our students, their families, and their teachers. Each year, we celebrate not only their academic results, but also the journey they have undertaken."
— Emmanuel Coigny

"At CDL, you never feel like just another student. The teachers genuinely care about your progress, and because they stay with you for years, they help you grow both academically and personally. That’s something really special."
— Victoria
