Message from Secondary - 9th November
Message from Secondary - 9th November It has been great to see our students back in school after the majority of them were involved in Project Week trips last week. The trips themselves were extremely successful. We ask our students to have the confidence to step outside their comfort zones and to fully engage in the various challenges that are offered to them. It has been wonderful hearing from the teachers accompanying those students how well they have done this and how much they have learned in doing so. Our pupils were also great ambassadors for the school, conducting themselves, as we would expect, with politeness, respect and with a positive attitude. Each trip included an element of community service and our students can be justifiably proud that they have made a tangible difference in the lives of others in the work that they were able to do.

The trips are also an important opportunity to bond as a year group, cement friendships and, of course, to have fun. All in all, it was a hugely successful week and I shall be sharing some of the student reflections of those trips in future editions of the newsletter.

I would like to make you aware of a change to our schedule. The Options evening for IGCSE and IB (originally scheduled for 20th November) has now been rescheduled for Tuesday 27th November. The Higher Education Evening for students and parents of Year 12 which was scheduled for the 27th will also be changed with more details of that to follow.

The next few weeks are busy as usual.  As I write, some of our Year 9 and Year 10 students are representing the school at the Under 15 FOBISIA games in Phuket, featuring swimming and athletics. Next week, we welcome schools to our ACAMIS tournament for Rugby and Netball. From the week beginning 19th November, Assessment Cycle 1 begins and will run until Friday 30th November.

Finally, a reminder of upcoming events through the rest of the term:

Monday 12th November -  school holiday.

Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th November – NAIS Model United Nations

Tuesday 27th November – Options evening for IGCSE and IB

Friday 30th November – Christmas Fair

Wednesday 12th December – IGCSE Awards ceremony
