In October, we were delighted to once again bring a group of Champittet students to Madagascar, where they actively contributed to our projects on the ground. Facing a reality that is very different from our own daily life at Collège Champittet, our young volunteers engaged in renovation work and spent time interacting with local Malagasy children. Through this intercultural experience, our students broadened their worldview and deepened their awareness of global issues. While forming meaningful relationships with the local community, our participants reflected on their own responsibilities and privileges.
As part of the trip, our students also learned about the
unique ecosystem of Madagascar. In addition to enjoying the country’s beautiful beaches, our group visited natural wildlife areas, observing the island’s rich variety of plant and animal species.
Our annual humanitarian trip is always a transformational experience. Not only do our students discover a different country and culture, but they play an important role in supporting social projects that improve the lives of the local community. Offering a tremendous opportunity for personal growth, this year’s trip to Madagascar has left an unforgettable impression on our young travellers.
