Champittet musicians showcase talent in Virtual Young Musician of the Year Competition

We are thrilled to share that Collège Champittet has three finalists in the Global Campus Virtual Young Musician of the Year 2024 competition organised by Nord Anglia Education (NAE).

Champittet student Nathan L. won second place in the Classical category of Strings – Plucked/Struck (ages 14 and up) for his guitar performance of “Rumba”. Daniel Kr. won third place in the Classical category of Strings – Bowed (ages 7 and under) for his violin performance of “Mama Africa”. And our Champittet-grown rock band composed of Luca F., Emily W., Emma G., Nic Z. and Akira D. earned a Special Mention in the Popular category of Bands/Groups (ages 14 and up) for their performance of “How you remind me”. Congratulations to our Champittet musicians!

Earning a place as a finalist in the Virtual Young Musician of the Year competition is a tremendous achievement. Budding musicians from 65 Nord Anglia Education schools submitted 741 video entries, which were evaluated by a panel of NAE judges. This was truly a showcase of musical talent from around the world. Videos of the competition Winners are showcased on Global Campus, while performances by Runners Up and Special Mentions are featured at the top of the Padlets on the GC Virtual Young Musician page.

At Collège Champittet, we are proud to collaborate with The Juilliard School to encourage musical expression at all ages. Whether singing in a choir or practising an instrument, the study of music is an excellent way to develop connections between the mind, body and spirit. We hope that all our music-loving students continue to pursue this creative endeavour!
