Pupils show off costumes, colour and creativity for Extravagance Day at Champittet

Extravagance day_2024

The Day of Extravagance is an eagerly awaited annual tradition at Champittet. In February, students and teachers alike dressed in imaginative costumes, transforming our Pully campus into a colourful wonderland of fantasy and creativity!

Our primary students in particular did a splendid job of getting into the Carnival spirit. With police officers, princesses, superheroes and mythical creatures, there were magnificent costumes and smiles all around. Our children truly displayed their enthusiasm and originality! One pupil even came to school in a meta-costume – wearing the words “this is not a costume” – in a nod to the surrealist painter Magritte.

This colourful tradition preceding Lent is a cherished moment for the Champittet community to come together and celebrate our diversity, creativity and shared joy. From choosing and making costumes to role-playing at school, dressing up is a wonderful form of imaginative play for children.

We hope you enjoy these pictures as much as we enjoyed the Day of Extravagance!
