The holidays may be behind us, but what better way to start the New Year than with a recap of our joyful Christmas festivities?
In December, several Christmas-themed trips helped our primary students to get into the holiday spirit. At the Alimentarium in Vevey, our Pully 5th-graders learned about nutrition and cuisine while preparing a scrumptious Christmas meal. Meanwhile, our youngest learners experienced the magic of meeting Santa Claus at home: our Nyon pre-schoolers explored the wonderful world of Santa’s Hamlet (Le Hameau du Père Noël), just across the border in France, and our Pully pre-schoolers and 4th-graders visited Santa’s mountaintop home at Rochers-de-Naye.
In Nyon, students held a charity Christmas market on campus for the Champittet Foundation. Our school also participated in the local town market, with a stand offering holiday make-up workshops, Christmas storytelling, and handicrafts.
Our Pully students also organised their own Christmas market, contributing to valuable fundraising while spreading holiday cheer among our community. From December 18th to 20th, students, families, teachers and staff came together to enjoy the Christmas market, celebrations and nativity representations in our chapel, and holiday food and drink. Special musical performances by our Children’s Choir and Women’s Choir added the finishing touch to a festive occasion!
The holidays are a time of giving. This season, we were glad to raise money to support high school and university scholarships for orphan girls residing at Father Stefano’s “Maison des Enfants” in Antananarivo, Madagascar. This worthy cause forms part of the ongoing efforts of the Champittet Foundation to improve educational access for children in Madagascar.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all our donors. Thanks to you, we were able to raise 35'000 francs this holiday season. This holiday gift will make a lifelong difference for our scholarship recipients!
One of the benefits of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at Collège Champittet is that it offers a well-rounded education in diverse subjects – including the arts.
Extravaganza Day is an eagerly awaited tradition of school life at Collège Champittet. Our students enjoy the excitement of creating their own magical identities for the day, whether as firefighters, princesses, fairies, foxes, astronauts, dinosaurs, or robots.
