Join our next early years Open Day
Something is making a buzz at Champittet Nyon, and it’s our new educational beehive! This latest addition to our Forest School gives pupils the opportunity to observe the fascinating life of bees in a safe and secure environment.
Beekeeping is a wonderful activity to help children learn more about the important role that bees play in our ecosystem. From pollination to the life cycle of bees and the physics of flight, many scientific topics can be approached in a dynamic way through this project. Of course, this also includes exploring the vital question of how bees make honey!
We are proud to say that we are the first school in the region to bring a beehive on campus to enhance student learning. From now on, our newly colonised hive will form an integral part of outdoor education at Champittet Nyon. Throughout the year, our beekeeper will work with each class to provide more comprehensive training adapted to different age groups.
By hosting a beehive on our school grounds, we strengthen our commitments to safeguarding biodiversity and reconnecting with nature. Many thanks to Ms Amélia Da Silva, who has worked tirelessly over the past two years to bring this project to fruition. We can’t wait to learn more together with our new beehive!
We are proud to announce that Collège Champittet has once again been ranked among the 100 leading private schools in the world by the Spear’s Schools Index!
At Collège Champittet, our culture of lifelong learning includes our teachers just as much as our students. Learning doesn’t stop when we leave the classroom or when the school day ends.
