On the occasion of International Women's Day, we took the opportunity this year to honor and recognize the contribution of our talented female teachers of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). These women have made remarkable achievements in their respective fields and are inspiring role models for our students.
For a long time, science and technology fields were seen as male-dominated areas. However, in recent years, women have made significant strides in STEM careers, breaking down gender barriers and making a mark in traditionally male-dominated fields. Despite this progress, there is still a long way to go in achieving gender equality in STEAM.
According to the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, less than 30% of researchers worldwide are women. This gender disparity is particularly evident in the fields of engineering and computer science, where the percentage of women is even lower.
Having female STEAM teachers is crucial to adress this gender gap, they are not only inspiring role models for young girls but also provide them mentorship and support.
Ladies, you can be very proud of your career path and achievements!
One of the benefits of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at Collège Champittet is that it offers a well-rounded education in diverse subjects – including the arts.
Extravaganza Day is an eagerly awaited tradition of school life at Collège Champittet. Our students enjoy the excitement of creating their own magical identities for the day, whether as firefighters, princesses, fairies, foxes, astronauts, dinosaurs, or robots.
