New Year: are you a pessimist or an optimist?

Dear Champiteans,

You know the famous quote attributed to Winston Churchill: "A pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity, an optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty."  According to some studies, having low expectations of life prevents being "surprised bad" as we say in our canton. Caution smoothes out the emotions. Excessive optimism, on the other hand, can become toxic. In Champittet, we prefer to be realistic and turned to action.

In the avalanche of bad news that we are fed by the media, which are only a reflection of our paranoid tendency to evaluate risks, it is possible to read promising news, resulting from scientific research.
