Today we kicked off our Earth Day celebrations at CDS. This year we are celebrating Earth Day by promoting Circular Economy in our school. Students started the day by watching a video in which various members in our community explained how CDS is using the 5 R’s to promote circular economy (Reject, Reduce, Reuse, Redesign and Recycle). As a school, we made an effort to reduce the waste produced during lunchtime in the cafeteria by consuming everything we ordered and finding other uses for our inorganic waste. We will have the results of this challenge next week once the waste has been weighed.
On Monday, April 24 our Health and Safety Team will be conducting a routine fire drill with all students and staff. At CDS, our number one priority is the health and safety of our staff and students. To this end, we conduct routine safety drills to ensure that we have strong systems in place. Feel free to talk to your child about our upcoming drill (Monday afternoon) and encourage them to ask their teacher/administrator if they have any questions.
