PANTHER EXPERIENCE OPEN HOUSE
27 February, 2020
Dear CDS Parents,
As we all know, the Coronavirus (Covid-19) is spreading across the globe, and it’s possible that cases might appear
soon in Costa Rica.
I’m writing to inform you that our CDS team, especially Nurse Martha Bello and Facilities Coordinator Marco Calvo,
and I are working on a preventive and response plan. We’re adding more soap & towels to washing areas, deploying
more alcohol spray bottles, and increasing disinfectant cleaning of high-use areas. We’ve also ordered additional
medical equipment and supplies, like masks and thermometers. We’re asking teachers to increase student
hand-washing opportunities, especially for our younger students, and informing older students to do it more frequently.
Our plan and preparation are guided by multiple sources of information and support, including the Costa Rican Ministry
of Health (CCSS), US Embassy, Nord Anglia Education, and other agencies. We ask for your help by not sending any
sick children to school. And if they have a fever, be sure they are fever-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school.
Our goal is to keep your kids safe, thus we’ll do everything we can to ensure that outcome. I will update you as the situation
changes and warrants. Right now, it’s important to stay calm, rely on the facts, and be vigilant.
Please share any questions by replying to me or Martha Bello at martha_bello@cds.ed.cr
