BVIS - Where Children Grow Up with Care

A child's happiness and personal growth cannot happen without a deep connection between parents, teachers, and the school. Understanding this, BVIS always prioritises nurturing a close, meaningful relationship with families to work together with parents in order to create the best learning environment for students to thrive and flourish within.

By spending time taking their children to school every day, Mr. Nguyen and Mrs. Quyen, BVIS parents, always feel the joy and passion for learning from Tri Nguyen, a current Year 11 BVIS student, and Yen Chi, who is now in Year 5.

“Thirty minutes in the car is precious family time. We get to hear about everything our children experience at school—about their friends, classes, teachers, and even what was delicious in the lunch menu. We hope their journey of growing up is always filled with such loving and happy moments,” Mr. Nguyen shared.

With two children who have very different personalities, Mr. Nguyen and Mrs. Quyen always prioritised finding a school environment that is caring, loving, and respectful of individual differences. The words and actions of the adults around them reflect in their children's hearts and personalities, and the influence of teachers plays a significant role in their development. They feel fortunate that their children are surrounded by dedicated, qualified and enthusiastic teachers. This is also why they have been part of the BVIS community for more than 10 years.

In their early days at BVIS, both Tri Nguyen and Yen Chi felt a bit unfamiliar with the new environment. However, our teachers encouraged and supported them, helping spark their confidence and love for learning. At each stage, the teachers adjusted their teaching and communication styles to match the students’ changing personalities and individual needs. Mrs. Quyen shared that some teachers, like Ms. Phuc in Primary, had taught both children and skillfully adapted to each child’s differences, helping them learn and grow better each day.

“The connection between teachers and families at BVIS is very special. Through various events, we can understand our children better and closely support them throughout their learning journey,” Mrs. Quyen added.

From an initial shy boy, Tri Nguyen has grown into a confident teenager, willing to take on leadership roles in small groups and larger teams. He allows himself to embrace various experiences without fear of mistakes, participating in competitions, sports events, group projects, and outdoor activities. In the 2023-2024 school year, Tri Nguyen was one of three BVIS students selected to attend the NAE-UNICEF Senior Students' Summit in Houston, Texas. Through the global partnership between Nord Anglia Education (NAE) and UNICEF, this trip gave Tri Nguyen and his friends the chance to engage, connect and raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through international community projects, and foster greater empathy for those around them.

Once feeling insecure in other environments, Yen Chi now confidently interacts with friends and teachers and pushes herself further in swimming, science, and music lessons. She deeply appreciates her teachers, who have always supported her in her daily classes.

“At school, we are surprised that everyone remembers the names of both our children, from teachers and staff to the security guards. Perhaps our family has been with the school for a long time, but these little things make our children and us feel as if we belong, just like at home. Seeing the radiant faces of our kids and hearing their lively stories after each school day reassures us that BVIS is truly a caring environment and the right choice for our family,” Mr. Nguyen and Mrs. Quyen shared.

When considering and choosing BVIS, our parents also expressed their shared vision and aspirations with us for their children's development in a rapidly changing world. The consistency and unity in educational thinking between the school and the family will serve as a powerful driving force, guiding students' individual, educational journeys in the right direction and helping them succeed in reaching greater heights as they step into the world!.
