The year of 2024 is a remarkable milestone in the 13-year journey of the British Vietnamese International School HCMC in driving academic excellence with outstanding successes.
Throughout its history, BVIS has embodied its mission of cultivating knowledge set by Mr Maurice and Madam Rosie Nguyen - the former Founders and Directors of the renowned BIS Group of Schools.
After the success of the British International School - Ho Chi Minh City (Official), Mr Maurice and Madam Rosie recognized the common concern of Vietnamese parents in seeking an international style of education that nurtures a young, talented, ambitious generation who thrive within a global environment but without losing their home language, culture and traditions. Led by this thrilling ambition to develop a truly global citizen with a Vietnamese perspective, they developed a unique international educational model for BVIS.
The official Opening Ceremony at BVIS HCMC started in August 2011 to welcome the very first families and students joining an innovative and exciting learning environment which is home to the world-renowned British style education with a truly unique Vietnamese perspective.
The first Tet Festival was held in 2012 in celebration of the Vietnamese tradition, welcoming more than 1000 participants. Our families and friends bonded together through diverse folk games that celebrated the essence of the traditional Tet. It is in our roots to preserve and promote aesthetic cultural values, while embracing the rich and beautiful history of Vietnam to nurture the Vietnamese language, culture and identity within our community.
The school production of the classic Broadway hit 'Little Shop of Horrors' started the tradition that is well established today. Their hard work paid off and they wowed audiences with their acting, singing and dancing talents.
May 24th 2014 was a remarkable milestone in our school's history, when the first graduating class of 10 alumni tossed their caps in the spirit of great joy and pride from teachers and families, marking the first generation of students who graduated from BVIS.

This is going to be a life-changing milestone that marks a new journey."

Ms Lan, former BVIS Environmental Ambassador, left Vietnam to go to Antarctica, where she joined the educational climate change voyage Expedition 2041 led by Robert Swan.
