Following the theme “Reaching for the Stars,” this week, our Summer School learners enthusiastically explored a variety of age-appropriate STEAM activities with the Snapology Center, such as assembling LEGO® and K'Nex® block toys, programming robots, and designing video games.
After many hours of hard work, our EYFS children created a range of Star Wars spaceship models using Lego. In the older classes, Primary students spent time learning about astronauts, spaceships, and the orbits of planets to study and practice coding, robotics, and assembling sensor engines. The biggest challenge was reserved for Secondary students, who designed video games by combining storytelling skills and knowledge of constellations in astronomy.
Not only did the children expand their knowledge about the vast Universe, but they were also encouraged to develop their imagination, social and emotional skills, and language development through teamwork. Most importantly, we could see that every child was consistently engaged and enthusiastic throughout the entire first week of the Summer School!
