Nam Phuong quickly fell in love with Chemistry from the first encounter. For her, the knowledge of atomic structure, chemical equations, and states of matter, was conveyed vividly and expertly at BVIS. The caring and enthusiastic guidance of teachers also helped her develop an increasing passion for Chemistry.
Nam Phuong shares, "I love the Science laboratories at school. Here, my friends and I can use modern equipment to experiment with different reactions, as well as actively research more about the structure and properties of chemicals. In addition, I can also interact with friends who share the same passion for this subject at the after-school club."
According to Nam Phuong, the A Level Chemistry programme provides students with a solid foundation of in-depth knowledge about Chemistry, and and has helped her develop her use of specialised language in relation to science and specifically Chemistry. This will prepare her for future research in related scientific fields in the future. She realizes that the content of this subject emphasizes the ability to think creatively and solve problems for learners. Her teachers have always encouraged Nam Phuong to come up with new and creative approaches to solving and applying chemical problems in daily life.
"I'm very excited to be able to explain the phenomena around me through my knowledge of Chemistry," Nam Phuong says.
Besides studying hard, she also spends a lot of time participating in extracurricular activities such as the Community Support Club at school, attending events and activities with less fortunate children at the Rang Dong special school or the La San Shelter weekly.
Chemistry is classified as one of the natural sciences widely applied in many aspects of human life such as medicine, biology, and more widely in industry. This subject is among the diverse range of subjects in the International A Level program at BVIS. A Level students focus on 3 or 4 subjects according to their interests and personal strengths, aligned with their future career development goals. In addition to academic knowledge, the A Level learning process supports students in developing important soft skills such as time management, teamwork, and critical thinking, helping them to build impressive personal profiles and be accepted into their dream universities.
