1. Happy Halloween!

Early Years celebrated Halloween this week with a spooky parade. All sorts of amazing costumes and characters including princesses, superheroes, skeletons and monsters danced down the catwalk. The children had so much fun in the classrooms too mixing Halloween with learning.

Let’s also celebrate a conversation between two F3 friends after the parade

- “Do you need help? I can help you with your costume”

“Thank you”

“You’re welcome”

Five-year-olds with beautiful manners!

4. Practicing mindfulness

Year 3 have been practicing mindfulness in PSHE. We have been discussing ‘big feelings’ like anger and sadness and looking at strategies to help calm ourselves and feel better. In class we practiced several ways such as belly breathing, grounding and body scans. We created a calm down wheel that we can use whenever we need help managing our big emotions.

Last week, Year 5 went on a residential trip to Cuc Phuong National Park. On the first day, they saw some wildlife on their long walk through the forest, and they also visited the langurs and gibbons. The next day, they visited the bear sanctuary, which looks after bears formerly used in the bear bile industry. It was an excellent trip, which closely matched their topic of Climate Control in Term 1A.
