2019-20 IGCSE Results On Tuesday 11th August our IGCSE results for Cambridge examinations arrived and once again we are so proud of our students’ achievements. A very well deserved ‘well done’ to all in Year 11!

There is much to celebrate and these are just some highlights to share.

Our Maths performance shone bright again with 85% of our students receiving a grade between A* and C and 40% of students were awarded a top grade of A* or A. Teachers of Biology, Chemistry and Physics celebrated their students successes which saw all students pass their examinations and many being awarded op grades: 40% of Biology students being awarded an A* or A, 36% in Physics and 25% in Chemistry. In Humanities our students’ love of learning saw 50% of Geography students achieve at the equivalent of A or A* too. And not forgetting our linguists, with all Russian first language learners earning a well deserved pass and 30% of them achieving at A* or A.

At BST we celebrate all out students’ achievements and encourage all to reach for their potential and to love challenge. With the remaining results due on Thursday 20th August from Edexcel, including the English, Art, PE and Computer Science IGCSE results, there are already students who deserve a special mention for consistent A*/A grade performance: Hulbakhor Berdieva and Izora Kayumova who have already achieved 7 grades at A*/ A, Joon Soo and Ivan Yahorynkau who have achieved 6 grades at A*/A, and Mihai Munteanu who has already achieved 4 top grades.

This year the examination process has been very different. Due to Covid-19, students were unable to sit examinations  but instead teachers had to assess the students’ learning and send ‘centre-assessed grades’ to the examination boards for consideration.

Therfore, we make a special ‘thank you’ too to the teachers who have worked hard both in teaching their subjects to the highest standards which enabled at least 25% of all our students to be awarded top grades, and to their extensive efforts in assessing their work and collating the evidence to support the grades awarded.
