Hello and welcome BST family and friends Virtual learning has become the new normal at BST over the past few weeks and as teachers, students and parents can attest, the process has been very rewarding as well as challenging and frustrating for all concerned. Both students and teachers alike should be commended for adjusting to this new form of school life so quickly and so positively.

Virtual learning has become the new normal at BST over the past few weeks and as teachers, students and parents can attest, the process has been very rewarding as well as challenging and frustrating for all concerned. Both students and teachers alike should be commended for adjusting to this new form of school life so quickly and so positively.

The Virtual Learning Experience offered at BST ensures that high quality teaching and learning continues. Technology is a key component to our Virtual Learning Experience, but this does not mean that students will be required to be in a virtual classroom all day. Teachers will use technology to reach out to all students and provide meaningful learning opportunities through a combination of teacher-led instruction, resources to support learning, and tasks/assignments. This will look different by age and subject and could include using Google classroom, Zoom, Seesaw as well as GCSE Pod.

Remember that while learning is important, at this time of unprecedented uncertainty, so are creative activities (art, music) as well as physical activities and family activities, such as playing board games, learning an instrument, cooking together are all learning experiences that in normal times get overlooked.

We encourage daily reading - World Book Online has just made its collection of 3,000 ebooks and audiobooks available for free for students to access at home, newspapers and journals are also excellent sources of enjoyment and independent learning.
