On May 4th, The Secondary School premiered this year’s Production in our Theatre. “The Ninth Wave” was a spectacular rock musical, written in-house by our Head of Performing Arts, Mr. Willig, and inspired by Kate Bush’s “Hounds of Love” Album. A departure from traditional ‘school musicals’, the actors took part in a real theatrical experience from the moment they auditioned to the intense rehearsal schedule of the final few days. Of course, it wasn’t just actors who deserve credit as students in our computing department worked on stunning visuals for our new LED screen, the music was played live by our school orchestra accompanied by some incredible solo singers and our language department worked with students to produce the programme. The final performance was an immersive, nuanced spectacle, made all the better as, for the first time in 3 years, we could welcome a full audience back to our theatre!
