Every year BSN looks forward to receiving the IGCSE results that are issued in August as we have very talented, high achieving students who always strive to do their very best. This year has been no exception and we are delighted to announce that Karma, Year 11 student has been invited to attend the “Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards” Ceremony in Shanghai to receive her “Top in the World” award for her IGCSE Foreign Language Mandarin Chinese. “Top in the World” refers to the learner who has gained the highest standard mark in the world for a single subject. Congratulations to Karma for her phenomenal performance in Chinese!
What makes this all the more pleasing is that Karma took her exam a year earlier than would be usual, at the end of Year 10; and that this is not the first time BSN has been recognised for being a leader through the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards, with previous awards for another “Top in the World” for Chinese and a “Top in China” for Spanish, both as Foreign Languages. With such recognition it is clear that the incredible teaching team for languages at BSN has really developed the ‘global outlook’ we strive for where passion for learning sits at the top of our aims.
We wish Karma the very best as she completes her remaining IGCSEs this year and makes her A-level choices for sixth-form – we are confident languages will feature heavily in her options.
