Saturday 4th July saw students from the British School of Nanjing light up the stage in a dazzling display of talent that rivalled any Independence Day fireworks show!
The event was the re-arranged annual BSN Idol Show and, despite the restrictions on an outside audience, those who took to the stage did so with confidence and charisma… and no shortage of talent!
First up were the Senior Students, encouraged by the generous applause of their teachers and classmates. With instrumentalists playing everything from classical piano to traditional Chinese flutes; full bands complete with bouncing bass ‘n’ drums (and the occasional ukulele); dancers demonstrating some devasting moves; and singers, both soloists and duos, with some stunning vocals, it was not an easy decision for the judges.
But congratulations should go to all our talented performers: Daeun, Crystal, Mary, Emma, Lina, Lilian, May, Jun Seok, Isabella, Lillian, Manon, Mingke, Simon, Kevin, Jerry, Geoff, Chang, Tara… and to our BSN Senior Idol 2020 winners:
3rd Place: Jun Seok, Roy, Nik, Jakub and Brian
2nd Place: Lillian and Isabella
1st Place: Cathy
After a break, it was the turn of our Primary Students… and boy, did they not disappoint! Dance seemed to be this year’s growing trend (perhaps with the influence of our work with Julliard and the Dance sessions run by Ms Ledgerton) and there were a number of students who broke out the moves for some energetic, well-choreographed pieces. Alongside these we had stunning instrumentalists, beautiful singers and even a magic show (that produced some very popular candy from thin air!)
So, congratulations goes to our talented youngsters: Mario, Flora, Julie, Lilian, Jeannie, Olivia, Candy, Grace, Tia, Cathy, Cherry, Eileen, Kevin, Louie, Mini, Owen, Zoe and Suel…. And to our BSN Junior Idol 2020 winners:
Joint 3rd Place: Oscar, Gaspard and Benjamin
Joint 3rd Place: Nancy and Pearl
2nd place: Enlin
1st place: Emma and Annie
