Our school community is proud to share that International Baccalaureate Diploma students at the British International School of Washington achieved outstanding results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for the 2020–21 academic year. We believe there is no limit to what students can achieve socially, personally and academically, and last year, our students demonstrated this philosophy by exceeding expectations once again. Despite difficult circumstances worldwide, our students achieved fantastic academic results that reflect our commitment to excellence.
For the 2020–21 academic school year, The British International School of Washington achieved a pass rate of 94 per cent. The average score of 34.9 was 1.88 points higher than the IB global average of 33.02 points globally, which widened the gap between our school and other IB schools around the world. This result also showcases the difference that Nord Anglia Education schools bring to students' academic results.
"I would like to commend our students and staff for a great job during such a difficult school year," said Ian Piper, Principal of the British International School of Washington.
Additionally, we are delighted to announce that 16 per cent of students from our school achieved 40 to 45 points and above. This number is the level of attainment required to gain admission to the world's elite universities, such as Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard and Stanford.
All of us here at the British International School of Washington would also like to congratulate our graduating seniors. These students made incredible efforts over the years, and we can't wait to see what they do in the future. Again, a huge congratulations to all our graduates and IBDP achievers on a job well done!
