UPPER SECONDARY SCHOOL CURRICULUM

At BIS Washington, our Year 10 and 11 students follow the British high school IGCSE program, which culminates in externally marked and certificated examinations from the University of Cambridge. Nurturing a depth and breadth of knowledge, IGCSEs are the ideal springboard to international high school courses, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

OUR UPPER SECONDARY SCHOOL CURRICULUM

The BIS Washington IGCSE school curriculum gives our students the opportunity to develop their academic knowledge and personal interests, while simultaneously equipping them with the qualifications and experiences needed to be successful in the future.

Featuring theory, investigation, and practical elements, our IGCSE programs are comprehensive and broad. This means they’re excellent preparation for the academic demands of our senior high school International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The combination of these two programs is the perfect springboard to competitive colleges and universities worldwide. IGCSE qualifications are, for example, part of a student’s international high school portfolio when applying for university entrance.

Our students also make significant personal progress through their involvement in community service activities and a commitment to social responsibility, international competence, and teamwork.
