The sound of music was in the air this week as our Music ECA groups got together to showcase their hard work from Term 1 in our annual Winter Concert on Thursday 14 December. Our approximately 120 students impressed our audience of parents, friends and family with their fabulous performances.
Performing in public is an important part of a young musician’s development and our performers did not disappoint. They showed confidence and skill as they performed works from across different genres including Christmas Carols, famous Western Art Music works, some traditional songs and a few pop hits along the way.
We were also pleased to welcome our Parent Choir for the first time to our Winter Concert as they showcased two of the Christmas-themed songs they have been hard at work on this term.
As one of our school’s Five Pillars, Performing Arts is an important part of creating a well-rounded education for students. There is an exciting range of performance opportunities coming up for our ECA groups in Term 2 and we encourage students to get involved!
Thank you to all of our performers, teachers, hosts, backstage crew and parents for all of the support. We look forward to a busy year of music events ahead!
