This week was Spanish Week at BISC! The topic this year was researching 23 Spanish speaking countries, making their food, and exploring the culture surrounding them. We value the importance of celebrating and learning about Spanish speaking cultures, not just the language, but the rich traditions, values, exportations, touristic attractions and foods. All Upper school students worked on more than 46 amazing displays and cooked traditional food that their respective countries eat. Year 13 students also raised money for Tanzania Charity by selling Tres leches cake prepared by Señora Zuluaga, and churros and rice pudding prepared by Señora Rincon. Señora Rincon and students from primary and Upper school set up a beautiful altar for Día de Muertos and discussed how this important event is celebrated in Mexico and by people of Mexican Heritage.
