Diwali

Foundation 1 and 2 had a fabulous time learning about the Indian culture and Diwali, the festival of light. They invited our grown-ups in and they all wore their own version of special clothes. There was sand and markers to create a variety of Rangoli patterns, Diya lamps to decorate and a map of India which we used to talk about the places where our friends and family were from. They were even lucky enough to have designs painted on their hands in Henna. Then they finished off our special event with some dancing to Bollywood music. 

It was a lovely way to immerse themselves into their new topic 'Shimmer and Shine'. They are already looking forward to finding out about more special events and seeing how many of them involve beautiful lights.
