At the British International School of Houston, we wear school uniforms and have dress code guidelines. We believe this promotes a positive school image, helps to remove distractions, and keeps students focused on learning. We take pride in how our students dress.
We believe a high standard of attire reminds our students that school is a formal environment, where they have an important job to learn, leading to a successful career later in life. Our uniform provider, FlynnO'Hara, have an easy to use Uniform Shopping Guide to help you find the right fit.
In lieu of a traditional school uniform, students in Years 12 and 13 follow a dress code similar to the attire worn to a professional job interview.
Spirit Days and What to Wear
Every Friday, we celebrate and promote school spirit with a Spirit Day. This builds upon our school values of Pride, Unity, and Respect, allowing us to celebrate our community.
On these days, anything bought from the Spirit Store or is associated with the school (i.e., Global Games, school trips, or school sports teams) can be worn along with school appropriate bottoms (smart jeans, chinos, or knee-length skirts). Hoodies may be worn, but for safety reasons, they cannot be worn in play areas or the spider web.
If you do not wear Spirit clothing, regular school dress code must still be followed.
