OUR HERITAGE LANGUAGE PROGRAMMES

At the British International School of Houston, we support students and families with the advancement of their first language — of their heritage or native culture. To access our heritage language programmes, students should be able to read, write, and speak proficiently in their language.

HERITAGE LANGUAGEs

Heritage language programmes at the British International School of Houston vary according to the language, since some programmes are driven by the regulations of the National Awarding Body of the target language country. This is particularly prevalent in Dutch and German, for example.

We offer Primary, Middle School, and High School Heritage Language Programmes. In addition, we offer other languages and cultural experiences through our clubs, where we facilitate opportunities for furthered learning to take place before or after school.

In Primary and Middle School, we provide at least one hour of the Heritage Language and Cultural Enrichment.
